[TFT] Patch 14.7 Patch Changes and Meta-Predictions (from Patch 14.7 Rundown)

Patch Notes (Live and PBE)

summary

Patch 14.7, scheduled for June 25, is the last competitive patch for Set 14 and is an important patch with final adjustments for the Tactician’s Crown (World Championship).

In reflection of the fact that Vanguard and Exotech, enhanced in the previous patch 14.6, dominated the environment too much, the following modifications have been implemented:

Temporary departure of Mr. Mort
 It has been announced that Mr. Mort will be moving to another project support position within Riot for a period of 3 months starting July 7.
 He will be in charge until 14.8, but the introduction of patches for set 15 and beyond will be entrusted to another team and the community.

Rebalancing of characteristics
 Vanguard and Exotech have been nerfed, weakening their durability, especially in the middle game.
 On the other hand, Nitro and Executioner have received small-scale buffs, and the strengthening of related units has been adjusted as well.

Individual Unit Adjustments
 Unpopular to mid-level units such as Zaira, Vex, Jigs, Vain, and Cho-Gas have been buffed and adjusted in a direction that broadens their options.

System Changes
 Radiant item names are unified, and “finished item priority” is given in the carousel after Stage 5.

  • All radiant items were renamed to “Radiant XXX” instead of their unique names.
  • If an item is not selected in the carousel after Stage 5, the completed item will be preferred over the highest cost champion, if possible.

Double Up

  • Team Cannon cooldowns are now based on the cost of the unit, not the number of stars.
    The cooldown is 3/3/3/5 rounds for cost 1/2/3/4/5 respectively.
  • Only ★1 units can be sent in Team Cannon.
  • The gift armory of replicators was changed to “three small replicators”.
  • ReinFOURcements” has been removed from this mode.

meta-expected

The main goal of this patch is to ” broaden and improve the health of the meta.

In 14.6, the ” too high basic durability ” of Vanguard and Exotech caused many configurations to become dysfunctional in the midgame.
In response to this, we believe that the goal is to create a meta with many options, in the form of a clear nerf to the target trait while adding a wide range of buffs to previously inferior configurations and units.

With adjustments made with the competitive scene in mind, the meta will not be biased toward any particular configuration, but will be a patch environment where flexible configuration decisions based on ongoing units and board conditions will be important.

Finally, Mort’s temporary departure is a major turning point for the TFT development team.
Although it will be sad to see the mascot character disappear from the team for a while, the announcement also shows that the team has matured and is making steady progress in the training of new members, as he himself has stated, ” We have a good structure in place.

Even if he were to officially leave the TFT team, we as players would like to warmly support him in his new challenge after having supported TFT so far.
