summary

This article is a compilation of Grim’s guide to getting around the Cypher configuration.

It covers how to enter from two patterns of consecutive losses and consecutive wins, configuration branches, item priorities, and detailed tips, and is still active strategy information in the 14.7 environment!

How to start a cypher composition: 2 ways to proceed

(1) Consecutive losses

  • Organized with only cypher units in the early stages
  • Always place them on the same side as the enemy team’s weak vanguard and aim for a single kill (bottom left image).
  • If other players are too weak, surround the vanguard with the rear guard to block (lower right image)
  • Ideally, I’d like to go 3-7 and try to cash out 10 straight losses.

(2) Winning streak progresses

  • Shift to Leblanc / Draven reroll if the streak target collapses.
  • If the board is weak at 3-2, reroll here.
  • Aim for Leblanc*3 / Draven*3 / Gario*3 at Lv7 with a stable board.

Example of board structure (how to proceed for each structure)

A. Cypher reroll type

  • Cash out at 3-7 or 3-3 to start configuration
  • Create the main carry item first → then the main tank item (do not create more carry items after the main carry item is created)
  • Keep in mind that no tank equipment in the galio = compositional collapse.

B. Zed & Zeri

  • Currently somewhat overshadowed, but still viable in the rank range
  • Priority on items for Zeri Zed.
  • Very good if the first exotech item is a pulse stabilizer / flux capacitor
  • If there are more than 3 Zeri in the lobby, avoid.
  • Lv 9 to raise the upper limit by involving Renekton Galen.

C. A.M.P.

  • The only route to play this configuration
  • Selected when Leblanc reroll is covered and you are in an AP-leaning configuration.
  • Cash out is based on material OR gold.
  • All in to 0 gold to get Neeko ★2 + 4 A.M.P. ★2
  • 9 forZack*2 / Samira *2

D. Boom Bot

  • Strongest configuration in the current patch
  • Economic augments are required.
  • Skip Lv8 if possible and go straight to Lv9
  • Argot ★1 and avant-garde ★2 alone stabilize the board.
  • Boombot mods can also be used to raise the limit.

Summary of Important Tips

  • If you are not sure if your opponent is weak or not, you can sell the board except for the Cypher unit.
  • In the draft round, the priority pick is the Cypher unit you are missing.
  • If Leblanc / Vai are not available at Lv5, there is an option to reroll only twice on a limited basis
  • Basic strategy is to leave at least 2 lives (= 18 HP) after cashing out

impression

Mr. Grim’s explanations are very specific, especially the guidelines for making detailed decisions such as ” where to stop the losing streak ” and ” when to reroll” are very helpful.

He even covers AMP and the most powerful candidate, the boom-bot type, making this a must-see for those who want to master cypher operation in the 14.7 environment!
