summary

TFT’s B-patch “15.4b” fixed the reroll-only environment and encouraged the return of leveling configurations.

We have translated Balmyeong’s commentary and compiled a detailed rundown of how to run each tier and major configuration. This is a must-see for those who want to win tournaments and ranks in the future.

Contents

Reroll configuration

Tier 1: Viego reroll

  • Characteristics: Currently the strongest reroll configuration. Quite powerful if it can be extended to Viego ★3.
  • Viego: Jewel Gauntlets (fixed), Night Edge (fixed), Quicksilver if the opponent has a lot of CC, otherwise Guinsaw.
  • Point: The key to victory is to place on the side where the opponent’s fragile units are, quickly take one out with Viego and Samira, and accumulate stacks of Viego’s power-up Extending Arm.
  • After completing *3, if Gwen is present, go to 8 soul fighters. If not, add Shen if Samira has items and activate Bastion and Edge Lord.

Viego also works well with artifact items. Flickerblade, Wit’s End, Sniper Focus, and Zonya’s Retro Clock are all powerful.

Tier 1: Malphite gin

  • Characteristics: Second strongest after Viego, slightly above Tier 2.
  • Malfight: Power-up “Transformation” is the best. (Can be substituted with “Life Force Overflowing”, “Resistance”, or “The One Who Stands on One’s Back”.
  • Djinn: Critical items are available -> “Spirit Sword”, Guinsaw is available -> “Artistic KO”.
  • Point: The theory is to aim for when a lot of Malfites are gathered early in the game and start with defensive items. The only configuration to aim for when defensive items are available.
  • If you get Thorn Plate Armor in the first augmentation, don’t hesitate to go for this configuration (Malphite has a very good defensive strength scale and is highly effective).
  • Kenen is by far the highest priority when it comes to *3 than Naa.
(Kenen will be an important sub-tank until we get Ka Sante)

Reroll until you reach 33 gold in Stage 3-1, and if you have gathered at least 7 Malfites and Civia, go for *3. After that, keep 50 gold and reroll.

Tier2 configuration

  • Lucien: 6 Sorcerer type at 3★ or Mighty Robot type with “Drift Duo”.
  • Cale / Darius / Jace + Caitlin / Zaya / Smolder / Cog-Mau / Malzahar / Yasuo

Tier3 configuration

  • Kai-Sa / Catalina / Lax /.

Hero Augment Rating

  • Tier 1: Dr. Mundo, Zack, Shen
  • Tier 2: Nyko, Kenen, Vai
  • Tier 3: Malfight, Galen (Galen can fight, but avoid Malfight)

Tier 1: Zack Hero

(at level 6)

(Completed system)

  • Zach: Bloodthirster, Jewel Gauntlet, and Striker Flail are almost fixed.
  • Power Up: “Fusion Dance” or “The Game is on” is recommended.
  • Point: Ideally, the final goal should be 6 lays.

If Hand of Justice is chosen instead of Bloodthirster, it lacks durability and melts away quickly.

Tier 1: Mundo Hero

(Aim to get Dr. Mundo and Vi to *3 at level 6)

  • Dr. Mundo: fixed with guinsaw, infinity edge, and striker flail.
  • Power Up: “Thrill Seeker”, “9000+” and “Overflowing Vitality” are recommended.
  • Utility items such as sunfire capes and even shrouds are effective for Vai.

You may be thinking, “I’m a damage dealer and my power-up is increased physical strength?” You might think, “But Mundo scales very well by physical strength, so even though he is a damage dealer, he benefits greatly from increased physical strength.

Tier 1: Shen Hero

When choosing this augmentation, you should always scout other players in advance to make sure they do not have a crew composition.

  • Shen: Guinsaw and Giant Slayer are fixed. The last frame should have a Hextech Gunblade or another Guinsaw.
  • Reroll at level 6 to make Shen, Xin Jiao, and Zaya 3★.
  • Power up: “9000 or more” or “double strike”.
  • Sin Jiao should have utility-type defensive items.

Leveling Configuration

Tier 1: Mighty Robot 7

  • Point: Very powerful when “Pandora’s Bench” is drawn. If you can get Lucien to *3 with “Pandora’s Bench” and find one Yone, you have the power to win.
  • If there is a “Pandora’s Bench” OR if there is a chance of reaching level 9 OR if Yone is naturally drawn at level 7 or 8, then move on (not a configuration you are forced to aim for).
  • Jarvan: mana-based items
  • Yone: Night Edge (fixed), Sterack’s Basket (fixed), Hand of Justice
  • Karma: I will let them have AP items, but I want to be sure to make void staff.
  • Power Up: Do not force “Mecha Pilot” to go for it. Recommend “Mage” and “Efficiency” for Karma and “Spirit”, “Extending Arm” and “Finalist” for Yone.

Since Mighty Robo’s damage is magic damage, it is very effective in lowering magic defense.

Tier 1: Star Guardian

(The reason there are two Poppies in the image is because the optimal item build differs depending on the power-up)

  • How to play: make one guinsaw early in the game, look at both Jinx and Ash as potential carries at level 8, and use the better gathering.
  • Jinx: Infinity Edge and Kraken’s Wrath fixed. The last slot is Guinsaw or Giant Slayer.
  • The “skypiercer” is the only power-up for Jinx.
  • Additional units at level 9 are prioritized in the following order: Braum *2 > Vals *2 > Kobuko *2.

Poppies: different power-ups have different optimal item builds. Normal poppies are gargoyle stone plate, unwavering heart, and spirit visage.
If you pull “Maximum Defense,” load up on shield items like Crown Guard, Sterack’s Baskets, and Oath of the Protector.

Tier 1: Soul Fighter

This configuration will only work as a Tier 1 if you have a Soulfighter crest.
Only go for it if you are lucky enough to pull a Gwen at level 8 or if you have a crest.

  • Items: AD items for Samira, recovery inhibition, magic defense reduction, and night edge for Gwen, and defensive items are to be collected in Set.
  • If you have a coat of arms, adding a bolibear and a braum at level 9 makes the synergy perfect and very powerful.
  • Power-ups: “Resistance” and “Self-Renewal” are recommended power-ups for Set, and “On the Edge,” “Shadow alteration” and “Finalist” for Samira.

Tier 1: Duelist

(The advantage is that you can create a guinseau and weigh both with a jinx carry)

Don’t force yourself to go for an item when you don’t have it. For example, going for the Duelist when you have the Tears of the Goddess will end the game.

  • Udia: gargoyle stone plate, giant’s oath, and sterak’s basket are required.
  • Ash: Guinsaw, Kraken’s Wrath, and Hextech Gunblade are commonly used. Since the Kraken has been remade and is now fully stacked to increase attack speed, the Guinsaw is not essential.
  • Can be substituted with Giant Slayer, Night Edge, or a second Kraken.
  • Power Up: “Giant Body” is essential for Udia, while “Desperado”, “Shadow Division” and “Bullet Hell” are recommended for Ash.

If and only if, in the second half of the year, Lee Sin is at 2 stars and equipped with full items and at least 3 power removal items, aim to activate two “giants”.

Tier 1: Sorcerer

Two important points about this configuration.
The first is to never use Rise as a *2, but to place her in the first row at *1 and use her as a tank.
Second, use Kenen instead of Ahri. (because of the protector option).

  • Tanks: Swain for pure defensive items and Jarvan for mana-based defensive items.
  • Gwen: inhibits recovery, lowers magic defense, night edge
  • Karma: Fix Jewel Gauntlets and Striker Flail. Attach Blue Buff or Nasher Tooth for the remaining slots.
  • Power Up: “Resistance” is recommended for Swain, “Mage” and “Efficiency” for Karma, and “Fusion Dance” for Gwen.
  • Point: In the middle stage of the game, I want to put power-ups on Swain and Karma, and in the second half of the game, when Gwen is at 2* and has all the items, I want to remove Swain’s power-up and replace it with Gwen’s.

Tier 1: Sniper jinx

There are currently about 4-5 patterns of Jinx configurations, and they are very difficult to play, so I would not recommend them to those who say that they are not good at flexible play or that they are beginners.

  • Ideally, play when you can aim for level 9. Only by drawing Vals will you have the power to aim for first place.
  • Jinx: Infinity Edge, Kraken’s Wrath, Giant Slayer
  • Valls: I would like to have Shozin’s pike, Infinity Edge, Red Buff or Striker Flail.
  • Power Up: “Transformation” and “Maximum Defense” for Poppy. For Jinx, “Super Active” and “Gather Strength” are recommended if there are items that lower defense.
Doom Barrage” and “Shadow Division” are good for Vals.

The “skypiercer” is usually the ironclad for Jinx, but this configuration, unlike the Star Guardian type, does not require magical defense reduction.

Tier 1: Lace jinx

  • Based on the sniper jinx configuration. Fix 5 of Poppy, Ca Sante, Neeko, Valls, and Jinx, and replace the remaining 4 slots with Zach, Malzahar, Seraphine, and either Cindra or Zyla.
  • If completed, it is very powerful. As with the sniper type, we would like to aim for level 9 in a situation where we can aim for level 9.
  • Defensive items have a slightly higher priority for Ca Sante, which receives the synergy of the 4 laces in this case, when both tanks are *2.
  • For power-ups, see the sniper type mentioned earlier.

impression

The environment in 15.4b has a healthy balance of both rerolling and leveling.

The Sorcerer, Soul Fighter (crest required), and Sniper Jinx in particular have a high win rate and are expected to be active on the tournament scene.

Also check out the diverse derivations based on the Jinx and powerful augments such as Zack Shen.
